The Free Tax Preparation program is now scheduling to prepare taxes for the 2014 season. If you are an individual or family making $52,000 or less per year, dial 2-1-1 today to schedule your appointment.
The IRS estimates the average taxpayer spends $200 on tax preparation services each year. In an effort to help people save more of what they earn, we have been helping low-to-moderate income families in our community by preparing their state and federal returns for free through the Free Tax Preparation Program. This past filing year (2013 FY) 83 volunteers assisted 3,082 individuals and families, saving an average of $616,400 in tax preparation fees alone. The program as a whole brought back over $4.1 million to Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa county residents between January 2013 - April 2013.

Volunteering and Internships
Become a volunteer tax preparer helping low-to-moderate income individuals and families stand on their own and bring more money back to our local economy. Without your help, this program would not be possible. This year we are looking to recruit 50 new volunteers in Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa counties. Click here to see what our volunteers have to say about the program.
We are continuously recruiting volunteers for the program. Volunteers will become IRS certified volunteer tax preparers, free of charge. Find more information about volunteering and internships here.
