Coordinated Entry is a system that helps people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness quickly access housing, shelter, and other assistance programs. It’s also known as coordinated assessment or coordinated intake.
Coordinated Entry helps people by:
- Streamlining resources: Taking the burden of navigating local resources off the person experiencing homelessness
- Matching people with the right services: Connecting people with the most appropriate housing and services
- Prioritizing needs: Prioritizing the most intensive interventions for people with the highest needs
- Being non-judgmental: Working to restore dignity and hope to the client
