An estimated 83,000 food-insecure people across Lucas, Ottawa, and Wood counties, including thousands of children, seniors, and people with disabilities, do not have access to critical SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown.
When SNAP funding is interrupted, families lose most or all of their food budget. Local emergency food organizations are already seeing higher demand and shelves emptying faster than usual.
You can help.
United Way of Greater Toledo has activated the United for Food Emergency Fund to support food pantries and local meal programs.
