Terry was 12 years old when he was introduced to marijuana and alcohol. By the time he entered his 20's, he had begun using and trafficking cocaine and crystal meth. Throughout his life, Terry struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol and wasn't receiving the help or resources he needed to move in a positive direction.
On August 2, 2014, residents of Toledo, Ohio and surrounding communities were without drinking water due to high levels of toxins. United Way 2-1-1 responded to 3,852 calls providing timely, accurate and needed answers to questions about water safety, and where people in the community could find water distribution sites.
Marshal, a 2nd grader at Elmwood Elementary School in Wood County, has excelled in his school work and social skills while enrolled in STARS, a partnership program with United Way in Wood County.
