At The United Way Food Summit, we aim to bring together passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds to tackle the pressing issue of food insecurity in our community. Through engaging workshops, informative panels, and interactive sessions, we will explore innovative ways to combat hunger and create a more sustainable future. The highlight of the day will be Ari Weinzweig, co-founder of the much-beloved Ann Arbor deli, Zingerman’s. He will share how private, public, and governmental entities can better work together to form a healthy nonprofit ecosystem.

Whether you are a food service provider, community leader, or simply someone who cares deeply about making a difference. We invite you to join us for this opportunity to learn about promising innovations and best practices in the food sector. Here’s what we hope to accomplish:

  • Identify key investment opportunities along the food security continuum and better express the dire need for support and resources.
  • Engage food system stakeholders to consider reconvening a Food Equity Council.
  • Present ongoing research and investments in food security, to engage partners and develop a comprehensive community food system strategy.
