Gem Beach Rocks is a festive outdoor event on the shores of Lake Erie's most beautiful beach. Over the last five years, thousands have flocked to the sands of Gem Beach to help raise funds for United Way in Ottawa County.
With your help, we surpassed last year's Gem Beach Rocks total by raising more than $33,000 through the help of 200+ dedicated volunteers. Click here to view and share photos from the event.
The funds raised stay in Ottawa County to help create community solutions in education, income, and health. Thanks to you, we can ensure children enter school ready to succeed and individuals and families become financially stable.
Through your support:
- 120 volunteers packed and served 75 lunches twice a week to students who qualified for free and reduced lunch through the Summer Lunch and Fun program.
- 494 people were given family wrap-around and case management assistance and support in the pursuit of long-term financial and housing stability.
- More than 50 people have signed up to volunteer as part of the Campaign to Recruit Readers and Tutors.
