United Way rated 4-stars again!

Charity Navigator, America’s largest and most-utilized independent charity evaluator, has rated United Way of Greater Toledo 4 stars– the highest possible rating – for the second consecutive year and the fifth time in six years.

Charity Navigator’s new two-dimensional rating system now measures each charity's accountability and transparency in addition to the traditional financial health measurement.

According to Charity Navigator, “Only 16 percent of the charities we rate have received at least 2 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that United Way of Greater Toledo outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates United Way of Greater Toledo from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

“As always, this is a rating and distinction we don’t take for granted,” said Jane Moore, interim president & CEO. “This is a great reinforcement for our staff who works so hard to get our work done in a financially sound and transparent way. Plus, this rating reassures our donors their investment in our community is being used wisely and responsibly.”

Additionally, United Way is currently one of only four locally-rated nonprofit organizations in Northwest Ohio with a 4-star rating.
