What We Do

The Family Information Network (FIN) is a parent-to-parent network that provides support by offering information, referral, education, and mentoring services to families of children with disabilities and the professionals who serve them.

Key Programs

Parent-to-Parent information and support:

  • One-to-one contacts

  • Family linkages
  • Workshops
  • Calendar of events
  • Information and sources
 

Information and Referral
Community resource information is provided with an emphasis on the following:

  • Disability related topics
  • Provision of quality information and referral services
  • Excellent customer service


Future Planning
Need information and assistance in future planning? Request the following:

 
  • Information packets
  • Contact with a parent mentor
  • Guardianship information
  • Wills & estate planning

The Road Ahead – GPS (Great Parent Support) Sessions

A new series for family members whose children are leaving educational services and entering the adult services arena, i.e. MRDD, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, and numerous others. Topics include: Self-Determination, When Entitlements End, Quality of Life, Employability, Socialization, and Living Options. Attend all six in the series, pick and choose any sessions, attend different series, or repeat any session. Three series are scheduled, beginning in January and running through the end of May.
