After a series of year long community conversations to determine the aspirations and barriers in our community, community volunteers, like you and me, developed Live United 2020 goals so United Way of Greater Toledo’s work could align with our community’s most pressing issues and priorities. And as a result, this year’s funding investment process is uniquely different. It began with an open and highly competitive request for proposal process, which enabled all current funded agencies and potential new funded organizations the opportunity to submit an application to be considered for funding beginning July 1, 2015. Following the submission of these RFP’s, all applications were vetted by our volunteers and went through a vigorous interview process.
The United Way of Greater Toledo’s Board of Trustees acted on the recommendations of the volunteers on our Community Solutions Teams (CST) on March 18, 2015. Recommendations came forward to our board based on an organization’s ability to help us achieve the results we seek in the Live United 2020 goals and their ability to deliver results.
Any 501(C)(3) nonprofit was able to apply for funding.
