Meet the new director of United Way in Wood County!

Headshot of Kate SommerfeldUnited Way in Wood County has a new director! Her name is Kate Sommerfeld and we are thrilled to announce her promotion!

Since 2010, Kate has served as United Way of Greater Toledo's manager of health and has served in many volunteer roles. She’s an advocate for health, and as a Wood County resident, she will play a key role overseeing efforts to improve the education, income, and health of Wood County as a whole.

This is an exciting opportunity to merge her previous roles together to have a positive impact in the community, especially from an engagement perspective.

Kate currently serves on Bowling Green State University‘s Social Work Program Advisory Board and as a volunteer for United Way of Hancock County. She received her bachelor's degree from Purdue University and came to Wood County to earn her Master's Degree in Public Administration from BGSU.

I invite you to join us to continue making a difference in Wood County. You can give, you can advocate, and you can volunteer. To learn more about United Way in Wood County, visit unitedwaywoodcounty.org. You can also contact Kate via email or at 419-352-2390.

Please wish her a warm welcome!
